Crackdown on stone crusher units indulging in illegal mining

Nine stone crusher units were found indulging in illegal mining during raids in Mithal and Bajerian area in the district, Pathankot mining officer Subhash Chander said. With this, the total number of stone crusher units indulging in illegal mining in the district rose to 18, the officer said.A local stone crushers association today held a protest at labour chowk saying "false" cases were being lodged against them. The Symons cone crusher is a kind of secure crusher, currently the most widely used in the world, with the characteristics of high quality, fine products, even size, long service life ,and high effiency.

The association of stone crushers met Punjab BJP president and MLA Ashwani Sharma and asked him to intervene to stop police from booking stone crusher owners. There are more than 100 stone crushers dotting river beds of Ravi and Chakki rivers and sand and gravel material is being sold to far off places, officials said. The decision of the state government to declare 75 acres of land in Yemmetti village of Kalghatagi taluk in Dharwad district as safer zone for installing the stone crusher units has been opposed by the villagers.

The state government in its notification issued on October 11, 2012 has stated that Bommasamudra-Kamplikoppa in Hubli taluk and Yemmetti in Kalghtagi taluk would be safer zones for installation of stone crusher units of the district. The Vsi crusher is the best machine to make fine sand, the products have to go through sand washer to wash out mud.A Gyratory crusher is similar in basic concept to a jaw crusher, consisting of a concave surface and a conical head; both surfaces are typically lined with manganese steel surfaces. However the villagers have strongly opposed the decision saying it would be detrimental to the eco-system of the region.
